We are proudly run by Filipinas who all aligned in wanting to find likeminded community, and to create opportunities to help uplift other Filipinos. Founded by Marielle Sales, Gabriella Mozo in 2018, we launched with our first popup and day party in Brooklyn, NY, along with the first issue of Kapwa Magazine. Upon meeting through mutual friends, Mal Tayag joined the team in 2019. Since then, we have expanded to hosting several events, activations, panels, and releasing product drops including merch, collaborations, and food products. Collectively we have collaborated with over 50 Filipino owned brands, highlighting hundreds of Filipino creatives and makers, and through all of this, we now move into the next phase of Sari-Sari.
With our previous experiences in the creative and business fields, we were able to cultivate and grow an empowered community, which we are now transforming into an organization that will directly help execute our core goals––help you, our Filipino community flourish in your creative endeavors and businesses, and help all of us build generational wealth.
